Timothy Wilz was first elected as the Sheriff of Waupaca County in 2018 and has served in that role since, securing re-election in the 2022 Republican primary. Under Sheriff Wilz’s leadership, several improvements were made in department operations. He oversaw the redesign of the county’s Law Enforcement Center, relocated the 911 Communications Center, promoted 14 officers, expanded community engagement efforts, and helped raise funds for a 12-member dive team. In 2024, he also led public safety efforts to combat wrong‑way driving—advocating infrastructure improvements and initiating a “Stay Right at Night” awareness campaign Sheriff Tim Wilz continues to lead the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office since 2018, modernizing infrastructure and expanding services.
